Volunteers from the Eastland, Doyle, Central View Fire Department, and the Sparta Rescue Squad responded yesterday to assist an injured hiker at Virgin Falls State Park in southeastern White County.

Members assisted medics with patient care and transport out of the remote location, including a small rope safety system on a steep set of stairs.

Officials did not release further information regarding the incident.
