Richard Arnold Hamil, 86
Richard Arnold Hamil, age 86, of Loudon went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug 19, 2025. Richard was born to Joseph Alvin and Willie Pearl Goddard Hamil, and a family of 12 brothers and sisters. He married Carolyn Jenkins, from Loudon, and raised a family of 3 children. He is best known for his exceptional mechanic skills, drag racing for many years, and a love for car shows in his red 1931 Chevy. He owned and operated Hamil’s Repair in Kingston during the 1970’s and was employed for many years with TVA. Richard was saved at 12 years old and was of the Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe & Willie Hamil; siblings, J.W. & Eunice Hamil, Agnes & John Hamby, Virginia & Blair Justice, Arthur & Myrtle Hamil, Kenneth & Shirley Hamil, Alvin & Juanita Hamil, Jim Hamil, Mary Sue Hamil Cook, Carolyn & Raymond Stamey, (Alma Ruth, Denton Alexander, and Billy Joe Hamil); mother-in-law, Arizona Jones.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carolyn Ann Hamil; his children, Tammy Hamil Long & husband, Bill, Michael Hamil & wife, Stacy and Dustin Hamil; grandson, Michael Chase Hamil & wife, Melia; brothers-in-law, Harlan Jenkins, Gary Jenkins & wife, Sherry.
He has many extended family members in the Loudon community.
The family will receive friends 11:30-1:00 Monday, Aug 25, 2025 at Edgewood Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Johnny Ward and Pastor Rod Garrett officiating.
