ROAD RAGE SUSPECTED CAUSE OF I-40 CRASH THAT KILLED ONE PERSON

One person was killed and traffic was at a standstill, east and westbound,  for four hours on I-40 in Cumberland County Thursday after a multiple-vehicle crash.

We have learned that the wreck is suspected to have been caused by a case of road rage. The reports indicate that two cars contacted each other on I-40 eastbound near exit 322 sending one of the cars across the median into the path of a westbound FedEx tractor-trailer rig – crashing head-on into the big rig and killing the driver of the car.  The District Attorney has not allowed the names nor the particulars of the wreck to be released yet.  An investigation is ongoing.
