ROADWAY ACTIVITY REPORT FOR LOWE REAST AND UPPER CUMBERLAND (NOV. 13 – 19)

BRADLEY COUNTY I-75 [15.35-19.309] from MM 31 to MM 35 (McMinn County Line) resurfacing: The contractor will continue paving operations. This work will require temporary lane closures in both directions, which will occur Sunday nights through Friday nights 8 PM to 6 AM. Motorists should exercise caution and pay attention to construction signage. The speed limit will be reduced during paving operations. CLAY COUNTY SR-53 (GAINESBORO HWY.) TDOT Bridge Inspection both directions from LM 0.16 to LM 2.5: On Wednesday Nov 19th the Cookeville bridge inspection office will be inspecting two bridges in Clay County on SR053 at the 0.16 and at the 2.50 log miles. The southbound lane of SR-53 will be closed at LM 2.50 from 8 am until noon. The northbound lane of SR-53 will be closed at LM 0.16 from noon until 3:30 pm. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zones at both locations.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-24 [15.056-15.56] from Crossville city limits to Seventh-Day Adventist Church and School bridge replacement: The Contractor is scheduled to close SR-24 at LM 15.06 to LM 15.6. This closure will remain in place for the duration of the project. The posted detour is along SR-462 and SR-1. The Contractor will be working on general clearing activities and utility work initially. Once initial work is completed, the contractor will proceed with the replacement of the bridge over the Obed River. Motorists should use caution and utilize the posted detour.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-28 (US-127 S.) Utility Work both directions from LM 0.44 to LM 5.94: Northbound and Southbound Lane closures on SR-28 (HWY 127 S.) between Lowes Gap Rd. and Willard Brown Rd. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-28 (US-127) bridge construction and paving from north of I-40 (LM 17.8) to near Potato Farm Road (LM 22.7): The contractor continues grading activities throughout the project limits. Temporary lane closures and/or periodic traffic stoppages will be necessary for construction activities. The contractor has scheduled paving operations beginning on the north end of the project on the proposed alignment. The contractor has closed North Grace Hill Drive at the existing intersection of SR-28 (US-127) for construction activities. Motorists should utilize South Grace Hill Drive as the detour with appropriate signs. Traffic has been moved to temporary alignment on Plateau Road and permanent alignment on Potato Farm Road. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-298 [8.35-9.02] from north of Catoosa Canyon Dr to south of Obed Pines Rd construction of a small drainage structure: The contractor continues construction activities on Genesis Road (SR-298). Both lanes of Genesis Road (SR-298) at LM 8.35 to LM 9.02 have been closed and will be closed for the duration of the project with a posted detour route along SR-28 (US-127) and SR-62. The contractor will be working to replace a culvert underneath Genesis Road and installing retaining walls. RESTRICTIONS: Both lanes of Genesis Road (SR-298) are closed from LM 8.35 to LM 9.02. [J. CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-462 from SR-28 (US-127N / LM 3.1) to SR-298 (Genesis Road / LM 4.6) in Crossville: The Contractor anticipates paving SR-28 northbound at the intersection of SR-462 at LM 16.7. Activities will require temporary lane closures and/or traffic stoppages on SR-28 and Interstate Drive (SR-462). Flagging operations will accompany these closures with appropriate signs. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone.

DEKALB COUNTY SR-26 (US-70) grading, drainage, and construction of retaining walls and paving from near SR-53 (LM 2) to near SR-96 (LM 6.1): The contractor continues grading and construction activities throughout the project. Temporary lane closures and periodic traffic stoppages will be necessary for construction activities and motorists should be prepared to stop while traveling through the work zone. Motorists are encouraged to obey posted speed limit and to watch for construction equipment and personnel adjacent to the roadway. The West end of Old Liberty Road will be closed to through traffic due to construction activities. DEKALB COUNTY SR-26 [10.88-13.25] from Near East Main Street to Trapp Lane resurfacing: The contractor will be onsite intermittently to complete remaining contract work and complete any punch list work. GRUNDY COUNTY SR-50 (–) Utility Work both directions from LM 0.08 to LM 0.16: Flagging assisted lane closures on Hwy 50 (SR 50) between Coffee County Rd. and I-24 Exit 127. Motorists should reduce speed and be prepared to stop. Trucks, signage, flaggers, and barrels/cones will be present, 11/11/25 with a rain date of 11/19/25 from 9 am – 2 pm/ [2025-647]

HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at I-24 Interchange Reconstruction Phase 2: Nightly Lane closures will regularly occur on this project, 9 PM to 6 AM, on I-75 North and South between Exit 1 (East Ridge) and Exit 3A (East Brainerd Road/ SR-320) and on I-24 East and West from Germantown Road to Spring Creek Road, MM182 to MM185, for various construction activities. These closures may temporarily reduce traffic to a single lane. Uniformed police officers will be present in these work zones to assist with traffic management and to enforce traffic laws. (Note: nighttime lane closures from 8 PM to 6 AM are scheduled on I-24 East and West between Germantown Road and the I-75 interchange for placement of asphalt paving from Thursday (11/13) through Thursday (11/20) of next week. Depending on weather and temperature conditions, the contractor will be paving every night on I-24, including this coming weekend to expedite final paving prior to the Thanksgiving holidays. At times, traffic may be temporarily reduced to a single lane while this work is taking place. As crews pave traffic lanes, it will be necessary to temporarily close entrance and exit ramps along I 24 for crews to safely perform their work. Message boards and detours will be posted to guide traffic to the next available ramp. Most of the remaining work items on this project are temperature and weather sensitive. If any of them are canceled due to inclement conditions, they will be rescheduled to take place on the next available day when adequate conditions exist.) It may also be necessary to do short duration (15 to 30 minutes) rolling roadblocks during the day or night for patching potholes, clearing debris or repairing guardrail, attenuators, etc. Portions of the left lane on North and South Terrace between Germantown Road and Spring Creek Road will remain closed for the installation of drainage structures, sanitary sewers, retaining and noise wall construction.

HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at the Hamilton Place Mall interchange: The SR-153 southbound ramp to I-75 northbound has been reduced to one lane. Traffic shifts have been implemented on I-75 northbound, Shallowford Road entrance ramps, and Shallowford Road exit ramps and Hamilton Place Mall exit ramp. Hamilton Loop Road is closed for retaining wall construction and storm drainage installation between the intersections near Markman’s Jewelers and Texas Roadhouse. The contractor has implemented a traffic shift on Hamilton Place Blvd. shifting NB and SB traffic to the east side of the existing roadway from near the I-75 SB on-ramp to near Bams Drive for the installation of storm drainage. The contractor will maintain 1 lane of traffic in each direction throughout this area. On the nights of 11/13/25 through 11/14/25 the contractor will close the I-75 SB Entrance Ramp from Shallowford Road from 10 PM until 6 AM for bridge beam erection. The speed limit has been reduced on I-75 throughout the project limits. Nightly lane closures are permitted 8 PM to 6 AM. Motorists should use caution, paying attention to construction signage and watching for construction vehicles and personnel.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-29 [20.72-25.756] from SR-111 to Old Dayton Pk. Resurfacing: The contractor is resurfacing US-27 requiring temporary lane closures throughout the project length. HAMILTON COUNTY SR-320 (E. BRAINERD RD.) Utility Work both directions from LM 3.68 to LM 3.93: Flagger assisted lane closures on SR-320 (E. MARION COUNTY SR-108 [2.8-3.24] slide mitigation: The contractor will be performing slide mitigation operations, including grading, drainage and paving on SR-108 in Marion County at LM 2.8. The roadway will be reduced to one lane controlled by temporary traffic signals. The project completion date is 08/31/2027. Please use caution when driving through the work zone.

All SR-68 traffic is using the existing SR-68 South bridge while construction occurs on the new SR-68 North bridge. All SR-40/SR-68 interchange traffic will utilize the SR-68 South interchange ramps. A temporary 3-way stop has been implemented at the intersection of the SR-40 interchange ramp and SR-68. PUTNAM COUNTY SR-111 (STATE HWY. 111) TDOT Maintenance southbound at LM 3.53: SR 111 southbound will continue to be reduced to one lane for the construction of a new turning lane. Expect the roadway to be reduced to one lane weekdays between the hours of 8 AM – 3 PM until the project is completed. Motorists are encouraged to follow signage and use caution when in the area.
