Members of the Roane County Commission and Roane County School Board will conduct a joint workshop this evening at 6:30 Eastern Time, at the Harriman High School Auditorium. It will include a presentation of the building  program to the Roane County Commission. In November, citizens of Roane County overwhelmingly voted down a proposed wheel tax to support the school-consolidation plan. Some say tonight’s discussions will detail a similar plan to merge the three high schools, but on a downsized scale. however  According to county officials, if the plan is approved, it would  require an increase in the property tax.
