The Roane County Sheriff’s Department is warning the public of a scam. They have been notified that someone is calling residents claiming to be an RCSO Chief, asking people to wire money to a bank account for failing to appear for a court appearance. Adding that if they did so, an arrest warrant would be dropped.

The RCSO stated that this is a scam and to NOT provide any personal or financial information to them.
