ROCKWOOD MAN ROBBED, SHOT, AND KILLED

On February 12, 2021, Knox County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Division received a Missing Persons report of a Rockwood, TN resident. Victor Letner was last seen in Rockwood on February 7, 2021.
KCSO Major Crimes Detective Steve Ballard, Knox County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Officers, and Rockwood Police Department Detective Charles Crothers collaborated to begin investigating information that Letner had possibly been headed to Knox County to meet a female, Kendra Ivey.
Officer Joshua Fischer with the KCSO Patrol Division was able to locate Kendra Ivey and she was then interviewed by Detective Steve Ballard. Subsequently, Kendra Ivey confessed to “setting up” Victor Letner to be robbed by Charlie Martinez. Kendra Ivey took Victor Letner to a vacant house on Kodak road where Charlie Martinez robbed, shot, and killed Victor Letner.
Kendra Ivey pled to First Degree Murder.
Charlie Martinez was found guilty on all charges and was convicted of First Degree Murder, Especially aggravated robbery, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
Martinez was sentenced to Life in prison on the First Degree Murder charge and the sentencing for the other two charges will be held on April 20, 2023.
