Rockwood Fire Department stated yesterday evening that “the fires are outside the city limits except for just a few small ones on Airport Road. TN Forestry has cut a fire line around all of the fires to prevent them from going any further but they will continue to burn inside the containment areas until it rains or they run out of vegetation to burn. As of now the fires are under control and everyone is safe, however, we will all have to deal with the smoke that is laying in the valley. TN Forestry along with multiple emergency agencies are on the scene and will be there for the duration. If anything changes we will keep everyone advised, thank you.”
