ROCKWOOD PD MAKE ANOTHER ARREST FOR DRUGS AND OUTSTANDING WARRANT
BBBTV12 – Rockwood Police Officer Jacob Cunningham made another arrest Monday night, following the one previously reported. According to Officer Cunningham’s report, the incident occurred just after 9 p.m. when he ran a registration check on a silver Nissan Versa traveling east on W. Dunn Street. The registration was linked to 38-year-old Chasity Galyon, whose driver’s license was confirmed by 911 dispatch to be suspended.
Officer Cunningham initiated a traffic stop at 812 Zumstein Drive, where he confirmed Galyon was the driver and verified her suspended license through dispatch. Further investigation revealed that Galyon had an active warrant for her arrest out of Cumberland County. She was taken into custody at the scene.
During a search of Galyon’s jacket, Officer Cunningham recovered a clear pipe with burnt residue, suspected to be drug paraphernalia. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered additional items, including a folded piece of aluminum foil containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.
In the backseat of the vehicle, officers found a black backpack containing a gray glasses case with various paraphernalia, including four used syringes, a blue cut straw with white residue, and two metal spoons with similar residue. For safety, the syringes were placed in a sharps container.
Chasity Galyon was transported to jail and charged with simple possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving on a suspended license. She is also being held on the warrant issued by Cumberland County.
