ROCKWOOD WATER, SEWER, AND GAS BOARD VOTES AGAINST RAISING GAS RATES
The Rockwood Water, Sewer, and Gas board met last night in a special session. The board met to discuss raising gas rates.
However, the rate increase was struck down in a three-to-two vote. According to Board member Harold Holloway, after about an hour of discussion of why to raise gas rates in Rockwood, board member Harold Holloway made a motion to not raise the rates at this time and it was seconded by Coach Davis.
A vote was placed on the floor with Holloway, Davis, and Ronnie Thompson voting not to raise rates. New board member James Nuckles and chairman Mark Clem voted to raise the rates, but again it failed in a three to two vote.
The board normally meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month, but the Christmas holidays occasionally cause meeting times to change.
