Ronald Alan Seiss passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at his home. Born on Wednesday, November 23, 1938, in Baltimore, MD, Mr. Seiss served for three years in the United States Navy before spending his career as an administrative manager and documentation specialist at the Goddard Space Flight Center of NASA. During his retirement, Ronald served on the board of the Cumberland Lakes Community POA where he oversaw lakes, parks, and wildlife management for multiple years. Following in the footsteps of his father, Mr. Seiss was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Ronald and his wife, Shirley, were passionate gardeners, naturalists, and travelers. Additionally, Mr. Seiss was an avid hunter and fisherman. He could be found cheering on the Tennessee Titans on any given Sunday, no matter how terrible the team was. He loved a good meal from KFC or Dominos and ice cream shakes from Sonic. He was known to be opinionated and mischievous and could never be trusted around any form of dessert. Above all else, Mr. Seiss valued his family and took great pride in all of their accomplishments.
He is survived by his children: Cynthia Moore, Susan Lynn (Mark), Ronald S. Seiss (Debbie), and Rick Seiss (Lynn); seven grandchildren: Stephen Lynn (Tiffany Chen), Megan Norris (Matt), Ashley Seiss (Katy Reindel), Emily Seiss, Ben Seiss, Phillip Gray (Melissa) and Billy Don Gray (Hope); seven great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, Josiah, Isaiah, Mason, Eli, Parker, and Hattie Grace; and one great-great-grandchild: Elliot. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph E. Seiss and Mary R. Dworkowski, his brother Ralph, and his wife of almost 55 years, Shirley Seiss.
Obituary was composed and written by granddaughter, Ashley Seiss.
