Sam Ray Bowling, 72, of Crossville, TN, passed away on July 22, 2026. He was born on April 7, 1954, to George & Mary Findley Bowling, in Toledo, Ohio.

He is survived by his daughter, Trena Sherrill (David) and son, Sam Ray Bowling, Jr.; grandchildren, Chelsey (Carlos), Tiffany (Jon), Ashlee (Shae), Aaron, Tristan (Lynda), Sean (Ashley), thirteen great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Julie, Jane, Judy.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, George & Mary Bowling; the mother of his children, Joann Bowling; his son, Robert Bowling; brothers, Glenn and J.R. Bowling; and sister, Marilyn Simpson.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 25, with the service beginning at 2:00 PM at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Walter Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow at Bowman Cemetery.
