Below is a list of those honored at last night’s Cumberland County School Board meeting. (Some were unable to attend and therefore aren’t pictured.)

District BETA Winners

Homestead Elementary- Jocelyn Gamarra, third place, 8th grade ELA

Stone Elementary took 34 students to compete in the state Beta Convention in Nashville. Tennessee. Stone had two students finish in the top five in the state in their respective categories.

• Om Patel finished 5th in 7th-grade science.
• Brooklyn Johnson, 8th grade, finished 4th in the woodworking division.

Both students are eligible to compete in the national convention this summer in Orlando. We are very proud of their accomplishments.

The Glenn L. Martin Elementary School Junior BETA club had one state-level winner at the 2024 Tennessee Junior Beta convention in Nashville.

• Kristine Ocampo earned third place in the state in 6th grade computer science.
