Anderson County investigators continue to look into a fatal shooting yesterday on Moores Gap Road in the Heiskell area.

The suspect in the case is 44-year-old Jason Dockery.

The sheriff’s office is actively gathering information and working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Officials identified the shooting victim as Shystie Ranea Mayberry.

Lee County, Virginia authorities said this morning Dockery is wanted for violations of probation for aggravated assault in Tennessee.

Dockery recently entered a plea of guilty to aggravated assault in Sevier County after facing charges including aggravated kidnapping. He is currently serving a four-year term on supervised probation.

The pursuit began yesterday in Claiborne County, Tennessee, and ended in Ewing, Virginia. Dockery got out of his vehicle and ran into a wooded area.

As of 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, September 13, 2023), the search continues for Dockery.

The U.S. Marshals Service is offering up to a $5,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of Dockery.
