SEARCH ONGOING FOR MISSING HIKER IN RHEA COUNTY AFTER DOG FOUND
The search remains ongoing for a missing North Carolina man in the Pocket Wilderness area of Rhea County just northwest of Dayton. Curtis Dustin Williams’ dog was found in a man’s field last Thursday afternoon. Williams went hiking Monday (May 10, 2021), and posted photos that day of his hike on his social media accounts. The Knox County Rescue Cave & Vertical Team was deployed to the area yesterday to assist in the search for Williams. Crews have brought in K-9s to try and see if they can backtrack the dog’s path to see if they can find Williams. If you have seen Williams, please call 911 immediately.
