On Saturday, January 14, 2023, the Sparta-White Co Rescue Squad was requested by Warren Co Rescue Squad to assist with a search operation at Rock Island State Park. Rescue responded with a boat, that has a bottom and side scan sonar, to help look for the missing. Saturday and Sunday were both nonproductive and White County returned Monday to help assist again.

The investigation is still ongoing and no information has been released.
