Wednesday could feel as hot as 99 on the plateau and 105 in the valley. Despite the heat, both days stay sunny and dry, with mostly clear skies at night.

Temperatures ease slightly heading into Friday and Saturday, although it will remain hot. A few showers or thunderstorms could develop Friday afternoon on the Cumberland Plateau, with a 20 percent chance. Saturday brings a 30 percent chance there, mainly before early afternoon, while the Tennessee Valley has a 20 percent chance for an afternoon shower or thunderstorm. Otherwise, sunshine remains the dominant feature through the start of the weekend.
