“SEVERAL DCS REFERRALS MADE IN PAST THREE YEARS” REGARDING MURDERED 3-YEAR-OLD IN LENOIR CITY

105.7 News learned this afternoon from Lenoir City authorities “several Tennessee Department of Children’s Service referrals were made” regarding 3-year-old King Brown over the past three years. Officers did not say the nature of the referrals.

Lenoir City police responded this morning around 2 a.m. to McGhee Square Apartments where a 3-year-old boy, King Brown, was fatally stabbed. Officer say King’s mother, 38-year-old Melani Sue Brown, is considered a suspect. Charges are expected to be filed. A family member found the child on the floor and called 911. Authorities say while that was happening, Melani Brown allegedly stabbed herself in the neck and chest in a suicide attempt. She was transported to U.T. Medical Center.
