SEVIER COUNTY TEACHER SUSPENDED WITHOUT PAY FOLLOWING ARREST
The Sevier County School System has suspended a teacher without pay after an assault arrest. John Wade, a music teacher at Pittman Center Elementary School, was suspended without pay by Superintendent of Schools Jack Parton.
Sevierville police responded Thursday to a report of a man allegedly pulling a gun on a woman at the Taco Bell on Dolly Parton Parkway.
The victim stated that the incident started in the drive-thru of Taco Bell, when an employee got her order wrong. She said after Wade blew his horn at her, they began to argue back and forth. The victim said Wade left his vehicle and approached her in an aggressive manner, returned to his vehicle and, at some point during the altercation, pointed a gun at her.
Police found a loaded 9 mm handgun in the center console of Wade’s vehicle and arrested him for aggravated assault.
