Sharon Ann McDaniel, 83
Sharon Ann McDaniel, 83, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2024, in hospice care at her home in Sweetwater, TN.
Sharon was born to Kenneth and Madge Ray on February 17, 1941, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1959. She dedicated her life to hospitality, from waitressing, home care, driving bus and food service. She was also dedicated to her church family at the Assembly of God. Fellowship was very important to her, and she was always willing to lend a hand.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Tony Smithers, five of her children Ernest Godin, Jr. (Wife-Pornthip) in Thailand, Lori Broughton (Husband-Michael) in Michigan, Anthony Godin (Wife-Sharon) in Michigan, Catherine Godin in California and Gary Godin in Tennessee. She is also survived by her siblings: Sandra, Sharlene, Marcile, Elizabeth, Paul, William and Jennifer. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Annette Olivares (Husband-David) from Texas, her parents (Kenneth and Madge) and her brothers, Kenneth and Robert.
Sharon leaves behind thirteen grandchildren (Ernie III, David Jr., Amanda, Melissa, Jordan, Christian, Joshua, Katie, Rebecca, Eli, Ashley, Daniel, Tag) and five great-grandchildren (Finn, Jack, Liam, Isla, William IV).
Sharon loved spending time with family and friends. She always had an open door and loved to share a meal. If you came to her home, you would either find her working in her garden, making something in the kitchen, or building a puzzle at the dining room table.
Monday through Friday from 2-3:00 pm, we all knew not to call her because she loved to watch her show, General Hospital. And heaven help you if you called after 8 pm.
She was a wonderful mother, friend, and family member and will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends on Monday October 7, 2024 at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, from 9:00A.M. until 10:00A.M. with the funeral service to follow at 10:00A.M. in Kyker’s Chapel with Pastor: Andrew Templeton officiating. Interment to follow in the Sweetwater Memorial Park.
