Celebration of Life Services for Steve Presley, age 71, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. James Staggs and Rev. Stephen Morrison will officiate with interment to follow in the Sand Springs Cemetery. Mr. Presley was born on Saturday, June 6, 1953, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late Donald W. and Anna Ruth Matheney Presley. Mr. Presley passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was a Godly man and attended Cookeville Nazarene Church. He was a devoted son and caregiver to his mother and they spent Sundays together watching Charles Stanley. Mr. Presley was a custom woodworker working with Fixtur World Inc. for over 27 years. He was gifted with many talents and an awesome mustache. He was a great outdoorsman, grill master, avid gardener, and undefeated at chess. You could always find him outside. He is survived by his wife Gloria Copley Presley. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on February 1, 2025. He was a loving husband and had such a deep devotion for his Momma Sugar. He was a wonderful father and enjoyed raising his girls as “his little boys.” He is survived by his 3 girls, Leesa Pemerton and husband Billy Pemerton of Harrison, TN, Dr. Lori Thomas-Steward and husband Ricky Steward of Cookeville, TN, Kimberly Workman and husband Donald Workman of Crossville, TN. He became a new man when his first grandchild came into this world. He is survived by his grandchildren, Colleen Thomas, Benjamin Thomas, Jacob Rex, David Workman, and Stephen Workman. He was an amazing Pa. He is also survived by: brother, Donald Ray Presley and wife Cathy Presley of Elizabethtown, KY; sisters and brothers-in law, Gail Jones and husband Rev. Billy Jones of Monterey, TN, Sharon Buckner and husband Eugene Buckner of Monterey, TN; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary and Donna Copley of Cookeville, TN, Brenda Grubbs of Cookeville, TN, Greg and Connie Copley of Conway, AR. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hoyt and Jessie Copley; and brother-in-law, Ronald Grubbs Sr. The family will receive friends at Goff Funeral Home on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
