Shelba Jean Dodd, age 70 of Dayton, passed away at CHI Memorial in Chattanooga on Friday, February 14, 2025. She was born in Dividing Ridge, Tennessee, on November 7, 1954, the daughter of Edwin and Vada (Jones) Dodd.

Shelba lived in Rhea County all her life and was employed as a sewer by Star Knit Wear in Soddy-Daisy for 40 years. She enjoyed watching her great-granddaughters play softball and attended Christ Family Church in Soddy-Daisy.

Shelba is survived by her children, Sonya Smith of Soddy-Daisy, Damien (Daryl Creasman) Dodd of Dayton, Sandi Madrigal of Georgia, and Brandi (Jose Bastida) Self of Knoxville; her 15 grandchildren; her 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Sandra Tankersley of Evensville; her nieces and nephews; and her aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services for Shelba will be in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Calvin Nunley officiating. She will be laid to rest at Hamilton County Memorial Park in Soddy-Daisy after the service.
