UPDATE: Christopher Sweeney has been located in Cumberland County.

MARYVILLE, TENNESSEE – Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong is asking the public for assistance in locating an 86-year-old man who left his home Wednesday evening.

Deputies received a missing persons report this morning for Christopher Sweeney, age 86. Sweeney is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall, and weighs approximately 150 pounds. He has blue eyes and is bald. He was wearing blue jeans and a tan shirt when he left his home Wednesday evening.

He was last seen by family members at 6 pm Wednesday leaving his home on Wagon Wheel Road. He is driving a 2005 white Toyota 4Runner, Tennessee registration BGQ8241. TBI is issuing a Silver Alert to help in locating him.

Mr. Sweeney told family members he was heading to Par-T-Pub in Alcoa, but his vehicle was spotted in the Sweetwater area at around 10:30 pm.
