8:37 p.m.
“Officers with the Cleveland Police Department went to the Mountain View Inn and attempted to serve an arrest warrant.
While on scene, officers were alerted to several individuals in a very dense wood line. Officers went into the wood line to investigate, as they entered the wooded area, multiple shots were fired toward the officers.
The officers backed out and called for assistance, setting up a perimeter. Officers with the Cleveland Police Department, Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, and the Drug Task Force descended on the area.
We utilized SWAT, Police K-9s, and drones to search and secure the area. We were unable to locate the suspect or suspects, but we were able to determine there was no longer a threat in the area.
The Criminal Investigation Division is currently investigating the incident.
We do not have any suspect information available at this time, the Investigation is ongoing.
No officers were injured.”
