SHOWERS AND STORMS

Showers and thunderstorms have been quite numerous today and we expect that to be the trend right on into most of next week. A few of the thunderstorms could become severe over the next few afternoons and I will be monitoring closely and keep you updated. This time of the year the biggest threat is going to be strong straight-line wind along with cloud-to-ground lightning strikes and of course very heavy downpours. Above-normal rainfall is expected for the next two weeks so there is still no sign of that big heat wave in the west moving toward Tennessee. The temperature hit 130 degrees on Friday at Death Valley California. Stay tuned to our stations this weekend and I will keep you updated on the radar and any other news that you need to be aware of.
