SIGNAL MOUNTAIN FIRE ON THANKSGIVING MORNING

At 2:23 AM Thursday 11/24/2022 the Dunlap Fire Department was initially dispatched to the area behind Kell Loop at the bottom of Signal Mountain for brush/woods fire. Sheriff deputies responded and then requested Lewis Chapel VFD to respond to the end of Window Rock Road on top of the mountain. The fire was near the top and under the bluff line. Tennessee Forestry was requested, and a dozer crew began working to plow fire breaks around the slow-moving fire. Dunlap firefighters were on scene for approximately 1.5 hours. Forestry personnel were still on scene working fire lines. The fire has been contained.
