A Tennessee Silver Alert remains active for Roy Whited, a well-known pastor, auctioneer, and coach from Sparta, Tennessee, who has been missing since May 3, 2024. That day, Roy was last seen around 4:30 pm walking down Lovejoy Road from his home, wearing a beige shirt and cowboy boots, after being captured on a neighbor’s camera pulling his truck into his driveway at 3:30 pm. On May 5, when Roy failed to appear to preach at DeRossett Church of Christ, neighbor Doug Watts checked on him, finding his truck in the driveway, his phone on the charger, and sermon notes on the table, but no sign of Roy.

This prompted a Tennessee Silver Alert and a massive search involving police dogs, helicopters, and 100 volunteers, covering over 2,000 acres, yet no trace of Roy or evidence related to his disappearance was found. Roy’s brother, Lynn, has tirelessly searched for him, traveling to Tennessee, raising funds, hiring a private investigator, and offering a substantial reward, but these efforts have yielded no results.
