SIX VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON I-40 RESULTS IN AN INJURY

A six vehicle accident on I-40 in Loudon County yesterday morning shut down part of the eastbound lanes of the interstate for over an hour.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the crash occurred at the 364 mile marker as the Tennessee Valley Authority was conducting rolling roadblocks.
Troopers say a 2020 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by 49-year-old John Arms of Soddy Daisy, a 2013 Dodge Ram 3500 operated by 32-year-old Benjamin Immekus of Virginia, a 2020 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by 55-year-old Michael Metler of Arizona, a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by 24-year-old Jodi Weatherford of Gallatin, Tennessee, a 2019 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by 35-year-old Dustin Welch of Mississippi and an unknown driver (driver 6 in the report) in a vehicle were all heading east when a chain reaction crash took place. Driver 6 fled the scene right after the accident and authorities are trying to identity the subject. The other five operating automobiles were restrained. The only injury reported was a passenger in the truck with Arms, 46-year-old Tinamarie Arms of Soddy Daisy.
