SIX-YEAR-OLD SPREADS SUPPORT TO FIRST RESPONDERS IN AREA

A child set out to make a difference in the lives of East Tennessee first responders by delivering some homemade goodies made himself.

Last year, 6-year-old Neyland Lawson told his parents he wanted to start a cookie company called “Neyland’s Dino Bakery.” He said he wanted to take the cookies to police, firefighters, paramedics and nurses.

Neyland, with the help of his mom and dad bags them up, and sets off across the Knoxville region stopping at fire stations and law enforcement agencies showing the true spirit of a little Tennessean. The effort is to simply say “thank you” to the men and women he looks up to.

Last night, Neyland stopped by the Loudon County Sheriff’s Department and presented the 2nd and 3rd shift squads with a basket full of his homemade cookies and said the most important words we ever hear, “be safe”.

Well done Neyland!
