SMALL FARMER FIELD DAY SET FOR SEPTEMBER 26 IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
The Cumberland County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) will be having a Small Farmer Conservation Field Day on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. It will be held at the Jose Rodriguez Farm, located at 6800 Glade Creek Road. The program will start at 2 p.m. CST.
Speakers will include Tennessee Department of Agriculture Food and Dairy Inspector Margie Hunter and Annette Wszelaki, Associate Professor and Vegetable Specialist with the University of Tennessee. Gregg Upchurch, Extension Agent with the UT/TSU Extension Service, will also make a presentation.
Additional sponsors for this event include the Cumberland Farmers Co-op, Grower’s Solution, Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) Water Resources, TDA Agricultural Enhancement Program, and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
A meal will be served at the conclusion of the presentations. Reservations are requested so an adequate amount of food can be prepared.
