Earlier today at around 7:30 a.m., Cumberland County Firefighters responded to a structure fire taking place at a small house located on Old Highway 28 near Pikeville.

The structure was already on the ground by the time firefighters arrived, with the blaze having started the night before. There wasn’t even anything to put out, therefore, the house is deemed a total loss.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
