SMYRNA POLICE OFFICER ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH IDENTITY THEFT
Lindsay Nicole Clemons, a patrol officer from Smyrna, has been charged with almost 20 counts of forging doctor’s notes for student absences.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Smyrna Police Department started their investigation in December 2024 after the Rutherford County School System came forward with allegations regarding forgery claims on the 11th of December last year.
On Tuesday, the former officer was terminated from the Smyrna Police Department and indicted and charged with six counts of identity theft and 19 counts of forgery. She was arrested yesterday and sits in jail with a $40,000 Bond.
Smyrna police chief Jason Irvin stated that officers of the Smyrna Police Department are held to a high standard and the Smyrna police will not tolerate unethical behavior on any level.
