SODDY-DAISY MAN ARRESTED FOR SETTING WOMAN ON FIRE
In Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, a woman was intentionally set on fire Tuesday afternoon in the 1800 block of Clift Eldridge Road, suffering third-degree burns over 70% of her body.
According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Christopher Medula admitted to pouring gasoline on the victim and igniting her with a cigarette lighter inside or near a camper that subsequently caught fire. A witness intervened, detaining Medula at gunpoint until deputies arrived and took him into custody.
The victim was airlifted by Erlanger LifeForce to a Nashville medical facility for treatment.
Medula is being held in the Hamilton County Jail on charges of Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Arson, and Aggravated Assault.
