The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a Rhea County man was killed in a vehicle versus a train accident in Soddy Daisy. Troopers identified the driver as 62-year-old Steven Moffett of Spring City. Moffett was traveling southbound on Daisy Dallas Road when the tractor-trailer became disabled on the railroad tracks. Officers say at the time Moffet exited the truck, the crossing arms were up, no lights were activated and no train was approaching. When the railroad crossing activated, the driver was outside of the tractor trailer and on the railroad tracks. The Norfolk Southern train struck the truck driver and the tractor trailer. Moffett was pronounced deceased at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.
