STOLEN TRAVEL TRAILER RECOVERED BY MONROE SHERIFF’S CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DIVISION

Posted by Monroe County Sheriff Tommy Jones:
On June 13, 2025, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft of property in Tellico Plains. The caller reported that her 2014 LaCrosse 32-foot travel trailer, valued at approximately $10,000, had been stolen from the property where it was being kept. It is important to note that the property owners did not have the trailer towed.
Detectives continued to actively work this case, and as of this morning, December 30, 2025, investigators with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division successfully recovered the stolen trailer in Sweetwater. The trailer will be picked up by the owner.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and the case remains active and under investigation.
We are thankful that this Tellico Plains resident has had her property returned, and we will continue pursuing this investigation in hopes of bringing it to a successful conclusion.
Great job to our Criminal Investigations Division, whose dedication and persistence led to recovery of this stolen property.
