Regional Forecast — Cumberland Plateau & Tennessee Valley
Repeated rounds of thunderstorms and cooler late-week temperatures will keep conditions unsettled across the region for several days.
Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely through the day. Cumberland Plateau high near 76, Tennessee Valley high near 79. South winds 5–10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph in the Cumberland Plateau, and calm winds becoming south around 5 mph in the Tennessee Valley during the afternoon. Chance of precipitation: 70% Cumberland Plateau, 80% Tennessee Valley. New rainfall amounts between one-quarter and one-half inch possible.
Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms continuing overnight. Cumberland Plateau low around 62 with a 50% chance of precipitation, mainly after 1 am. Tennessee Valley low around 63 with showers and thunderstorms likely, then showers after 1 am (80%). South winds around 5 mph becoming calm overnight in the Tennessee Valley. New rainfall amounts between one-tenth and one-quarter inch possible, with higher totals in thunderstorms.
Wednesday: Showers with thunderstorms also possible during the afternoon. Cumberland Plateau high near 78, Tennessee Valley high near 80. South-southwest to southwest winds around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation 90% for both regions.
Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy with lingering showers and thunderstorms. Cumberland Plateau low around 62 with patchy fog after 10 pm and southwest winds around 5 mph becoming calm. Tennessee Valley low around 62 with showers and thunderstorms before 2 am, then a chance of showers afterward. Chance of precipitation: 50% Cumberland Plateau, 80% Tennessee Valley.
Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, then showers likely with thunderstorms possible during the afternoon. Cumberland Plateau high near 80, Tennessee Valley high near 83. Patchy fog before 8 am in the Cumberland Plateau. Calm winds becoming north-northwest around 5 mph in the Cumberland Plateau and north around 5 mph in the Tennessee Valley. Partly sunny skies. Chance of precipitation 70% for both regions.
Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy with lingering showers and thunderstorms early. Cumberland Plateau low around 59 with a 20% chance of precipitation before 1 am. Tennessee Valley low around 60 with showers likely and possible thunderstorms before 8 pm (60%). Calm to light north-northeast winds.
Friday: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers early, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon. Cumberland Plateau high near 77, Tennessee Valley high near 80. Calm winds becoming south-southeast around 5 mph in the Cumberland Plateau. Chance of precipitation 50% for both regions.
Friday Night: Mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms becoming more likely overnight. Cumberland Plateau low around 58 with east winds around 5 mph becoming calm. Tennessee Valley low around 59. Chance of precipitation 60% for both regions.
