A Monroe County grand jury indicted a Athens, Tennessee man for second-degree murder and aggravated assault. Court documents state 47-year-old Paul Shane Strickland is charged in connection with the shooting death of 26-year-old Christopher Garrett back in October 2018. The initial report states Garrett was a passenger in a vehicle traveling near the 3700 block of Highway 411 when a firearm was discharged inside the automobile during an argument. Strickland got out and ran into a wooded area but was captured a short time later.
