SUSPECT IN AREA HIGH-SPEED CHASE TO APPEAR IN COURT

A bond hearing is scheduled soon for Floyd Allen Dalton Jr. of Knoxville.

He is the suspect who reportedly led authorities on a recent vehicle chase in Morgan County heading into Anderson County.

Before leading investigators on a high-speed chase reaching top speeds of over 100 miles per hour, Dalton rammed his car into investigators who tried to stop him in Wartburg.

Authorities say Dalton fired more than 30 shots at investigators in the chase.

The pursuit ended peacefully with nobody injured.

Dalton faces several charges including three counts of attempted first-degree murder.

This is not his first encounter of this nature with law enforcement.

Back in May, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dalton after deputies responded to a reckless driving call and Dalton fired shots at a deputy.
