SUSPECT OF ROBBERIES IN MULTIPLE STATES CAPTURED BY BLOUNT DEPUTIES
From Sweetwater Police Department:
Sweetwater, TN – On Monday, November 10th, 2025, detectives with the Sweetwater Police Department in collaboration with the Vonore Police Department began investigating a bank-fraud case, involving incidents that occurred between November 6–8. Detectives quickly identified a suspect and a vehicle, and shared the information with surrounding agencies.
The Blount County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle with three occupants. After a brief foot chase with one of the suspects, all were taken into custody. The primary suspect, Mr. Eddie Montgomery, was served felony warrants and later found to be wanted out of Atlanta for a early November 2025 bank robbery. He was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service and returned to Georgia.
The individual who fled from deputies, Mr. Marvin Jenkins was also linked to multiple felony offenses in Sweetwater, and additional warrants have been issued for him.
More than $15,000 in cash, fraudulent checks, and fraudulent identifications used in identity thefts and frauds were recovered during the investigation. We thank the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, the Vonore Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service for their assistance.
