A suspect versus a K-9 chase in Anderson County ended with the subjects arrest. Officers responded to a home on Railroad Avenue to take 42-year-old Michael Shawn Smith into custody on an outstanding warrant. Smith allegedly ran out the back door. Smith was spotted a short time later going inside a building on Main Street. Smith made his way to the rooftop and jumped from one roof to another but K-9 Baron was following. Baron bit Smith in the arm and took him to the ground. Baron’s handler ordered the K-9 to release Smith. He was treated for his bite wound then taken to jail.
