SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER IN CUSTODY IN DEKALB COUNTY

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Dept. has confirmed that a suspected kidnapper is in custody in DeKalb County. Michael Holden Thomas was wanted for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated domestic assault in Rutherford and Cannon Counties. It had been reported that Thomas was holding a 15-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl captive at the point of a machete, along with two other women at a house on Locke Creek Road. The teenage boy was able to escape with the children, and Thomas escaped in a stolen car. After he drove over spike strips, he fled from the vehicle on foot after hitting a Rutherford County deputy’s cruiser. He was taken into custody at the Handlebar Bar and faces several additional charges including violating parole in Kentucky.
