Taylor Fresh Foods has issued a sweeping voluntary recall for various salsas, dips, guacamole, and ready-to-eat items across 26 states following a multistate salmonella outbreak linked to jalapeño peppers.

The affected products were sold at major nationwide retailers, including Target, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, Whole Foods, Kroger, Hannaford, and Stop & Shop.

Outbreak Background and Source

Federal investigators point to Mexico-based supplier Coast Citrus Distributors—specifically a grower in Sinaloa, Mexico—as the potential source of the contaminated jalapeños. Taylor Fresh Foods announced it is no longer sourcing products from this grower and has transitioned to alternative suppliers.

While the broader salmonella outbreak has impacted at least 345 people across 27 states, resulting in severe cases and hospitalizations, Taylor Fresh Foods reported that no illnesses have been directly tied to its specific products so far.

• Check Products: Review your refrigerator for items containing jalapeños with “Best if Used By” dates up to and including August 16, 2026.

• Do Not Consume: Discard any recalled items immediately.

• Obtain Refunds: Return affected products to the original place of purchase for a full refund.

Salmonella Symptoms to Watch For
