(DEVELOPING STORY) – The TBI is investigating an officer-involved shooting last night in Anderson County.

Authorities say a Clinton police officer responded to a report of a suicidal individual at a residence in the 1000 block of Medaris Drive shortly after 8 p.m.

The TBI said that their preliminary information indicates that the officer found the subject in a parking area, shots were fired and the subject was injured.

The individual was taken to a local hospital, where he died. TBI said that his name is being withheld pending notification to relatives.

The officer sustained minor injuries.
