The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been called to Bledsoe County to look into the death of a suspect while being taken into custody. Authorities say 42-year-old Chad Songer passed away Sunday following deputies serving a warrant on him. Initial reports state Songer allegedly had a tool used to split wood and was aggressive towards law enforcement. He reportedly would not drop it and a K-9 was released. While officers were trying to subdue Songer, he collapsed and became unresponsive. An autopsy by the medical examiner’s office will determine a cause of death.
