TDOT CREWS DOING POTHOLE REPAIRS TODAY ON I-40 IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) maintenance crews will conduct mobile pothole patching on Interstate 40 in Cumberland County today, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. local time. This operation will require temporary lane closures in both directions between mile markers 304 and 340, likely causing significant traffic delays.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution, follow posted signage, and anticipate slowdowns in the work zone. The work is weather-dependent and may be postponed if conditions are unfavorable. Uniformed police officers will be on site to manage traffic and ensure safety.
Motorists are reminded to comply with Tennessee’s Move Over Law, which requires moving over for highway workers and emergency vehicles—violations can result in fines up to $500 and up to 30 days in jail.
