TDOT CREWS WORKING TO GET I-40 TO NORTH CAROLINA USABLE AGAIN ASAP

Regional Communications Officer with TDOT Mark Nagi said in a post on Twitter that TDOT crews are working to get traffic on I-40 going again as quickly as possible.
“Lots of progress being made on I-40 in Cocke County. Crews are currently working to open one lane of traffic in each direction between the Tennessee and North Carolina state line and then back into the rest of Cocke County. This traffic will be pushed over for these westbound Lanes.”
The current recommended detour around the closures on I-40 and I-26 is I-77 North to I-81 South for those heading to Tennessee from North Carolina.
