TEEN FROM SMYRNA LOSES BOTH LEGS AFTER BEING HIT BY A CAR

Over the weekend a 16-year-old girl from Smyrna, Tennessee was hit by a car in downtown St. Louis, causing her to lose both legs due to her injuries.

A 21-year-old male was driving an Audi when he drove through a yield sign and hit the victim while she was walking and smashed into a parked Chevrolet Malibu.

The teen was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries, while police say the occupants of both cars sustained minor injuries.

The Audi driver was arrested and charged with numerous crimes, including second-degree assault and driving without a valid license.

The victim was in St. Louis for a volleyball tournament.
