TEENAGER CHARGED WITH RECKLESS HOMICIDE FOLLOWING FATAL NORTH KNOXVILLE SHOOTING
A 14-year-old boy has died following an accidental shooting at a North Knoxville home on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
Officers responded to a residence on the 2200 block of Juniper Drive around noon, where they discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to UT Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Investigators report that several juveniles were present when a 15-year-old accidentally discharged a firearm, striking the victim. The 15-year-old suspect has been taken into custody and faces a juvenile petition for reckless homicide.
Authorities have withheld the identities of both teenagers due to their age. The KPD Homicide Unit’s investigation remains ongoing.
