TENNESSEE ASSOCIATION OF RESCUE SQUADS REQUESTS STATEWIDE HELP LOCATING WELLS

The Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads requested a statewide call-out for today (Sunday, June 20, 2021) to find 5-year-old Summer Wells. She is the subject of an AMBER ALERT and was last seen June 15, 2021 in the Beech Creek community in Hawkins County.

Teams have searched close to 700 of a 1,000-acre radius. They say the terrain is extremely rough making it the process difficult.

Summer’s father, Don Wells, said he is grateful for their efforts and everyone in the community is doing what they can to help find his daughter.

“We just really appreciate everyone trying to help, law enforcement all these volunteers that are here. I’ve never seen anything like this in my entire life,” said Don Wells. “I just hope that God and His mercies will bring Summer home to us.”

Captain Tim Coup with the Church Hill Rescue Squad said there are over 40 agencies from across the state assisting in the search.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office at (423) 272-7121 or the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
