TENNESSEE DEFEATED BY PURDUE IN ELITE 8 OF NCAA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

Tennessee lost to Purdue today 72-66 in the NCAA college basketball Elite 8.

Tennessee shot 39 percent from the field and 42 percent from distance but could not keep up with Purdue’s free throw discrepancy. The Boilermakers went 21-for-33 from the line while Tennessee only shot 11 free throws.

The Vols finished the season in the Elite 8 for just the second time in program history.

It was the deepest run they’ve had in the tournament since the 2009-2010 season.
